News � Last chance to make bonus chapter requests!

Alright, it might be a while until the next actual update, since I'm still taking care of the whole 'new author' business. Some of you may have noticed that detectivetarson.com isn't taking you to Detective Tarson right now. I haven't renewed DT's premium hosting on Smack Jeeves, and I don't plan on doing so until the next update ($60 is a hella lot). So, for the time being, just use detectivetarson.thewebcomic.com.

I've also been working on a 3-part point-and-click adventure game for Newgrounds. Right now I'm almost completely finished writing the story and the puzzles. After that I'll write the script, and then all it takes is finding some dude to do the art and some dude to do the programming, which shouldn't be too much trouble at all. The three games together make up over 70 puzzles, which is just absolutely massive. Definitely look forward to it.

Point is, as soon as I'm done with the writing portion of this game, I'll start drawing more pages for Detective Tarson. Hopefully I'll be able to build myself some sort of buffer before we get back up and running again.

Oh, and as the title of the news post says, if you haven't already, definitely make a bonus chapter request.

News � Make new Bonus Chapter requests!

The next page of Tarson will be up in a couple hours. In the meantime, I'm opening up new requests for the bonus chapter. For those of you who don't already know, I lost all my plans from the old bonus chapter requests and thought it might have been better to just ask for new requests. Apparently, most of you support this idea, so I'm going to go through with it.

PLEASE REFER TO THIS NEWS POST FOR RULES AND ALL THAT JAZZ

If you want to make a change to your request, I prefer you don't erase anything in your comment. Instead, just add an edit tag to the end describing what you'd like changed, maybe in bold or something. This just makes it easier for me to keep track of everything and notice new changes.

Also, be sure to check back on this news post if you want to guarantee that your request goes through. I will post in the comments if there's any sort of problem with your request.

One last thing before we get this party rolling like a fat dude on a hill, and for the love of all that is holy please read this, try to request as few characters as possible. Almost two-thirds of the comments in the last round of requests were asking for Santa, a giraffe, Tarson's parents, Squidson, etc. to be included in the chapter. Here's the thing, you guys, it's pretty much impossible to squeeze 20 major characters into a 15-page chapter without making it look like Sonic Author Middle School Talent Show (I swear there's going to be one of these by the end of the week). Honestly, the only requested characters that were going to appear as major characters in the chapter were going to be the Tarson and Peg clones, P-Guy, an ice cream alien who is Santa in disguise, and maybe some dude with a pencil weapon and Tarson's "parents." Besides those guys, everybody else was only going to appear abruptly doing something silly of the sort.

Obviously, we're going to need major characters in this bonus chapter, but I can only include so many! Ease up on the characters and try to request something of a different nature. Going back to what I said before, try requesting something unique instead of focusing on who's in the comic and where it is. Look, here are some examples:
Tarson gets turned into a monkey.
A flash flood endangers Tarson and friends.
Peg is referred to as Blorg for the entire chapter.
Clockston speaks in Spanish.
Etc. Etc. yadda yadda yadda. GET REQUESTING!

News � New Bonus Chapter Requests?

Alright, so I know some of you aren't happy with me after I didn't update for a month even though I said I was back, but I do have my reasons. About a week after the last update, all hell broke loose for me. My computer got a massive virus, I was told my dog was going to have to be put down (she's better now, thankfully), and all this was happening right as the school year started. I was having a horrible month. Mostly because of the dog thing, but the other stuff didn't really help.

On the bright side, I met CzarSquid in person for the first time, which was great fun.

Anyways, I already have the next two pages fully drawn, they only need to be edited, so it's not as if I've been doing absolutely nothing. I promise, I really am back. Thanks for being patient with me in the meantime.

Now, the bonus chapter. I was wondering, do you guys want to make new requests, or would you rather I stick with the old ones? I ask this for a couple reasons. First, because these original requests were made almost a year ago and there's a good chance that many of the original people who put up their requests:
1: Have changed their mind and want to request something different.
2: Have left Smack Jeeves.
3: Have stopped reading Detective Tarson.
4: Got crushed by a steamroller at some point in the last few months as a result of no longer reading Detective Tarson.
The second reason is that I lost all my plans for the bonus chapter and hate the thought of having to go back and try to remember everything I'd originally planned.

Personally, I'd prefer to make plans for new requests rather than remake the old ones, but I'm already a year late on this thing, so you don't need to side with me out of pity or anything.

So, please, give me some feedback! Want to make new requests or want me to use the old requests?

News � Any suggestions for the new website layout?

Okay, so the new website layout's drawing stage is almost done. Among the new layout, I'm also going to add a character page and FAQ page.

If any of you have any suggestions for any other additions to the new website layout, feel free to share your thoughts.

Anyways, for the new vote buttons, I'm going to have a cardboard box that has random items pop out when you scroll your mouse over it (boat, gnome, fish, etc.), but I'm having trouble coming up with any more ideas than that. So please, give me some ideas! What do you want to see coming out of a box when you scroll your mouse over it? I want to have tons of them, so give me tons of ideas!
